FAQ & Policies

What is a CSA?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. By joining our CSA program, you are actively connecting to the land where your food is grown, supporting the healing and regenerative practices of our sustainable, integrated farm, and enjoying a share of the farm's rich harvest each week throughout the season.

Where are your fruits, vegetables, and herbs grown and sourced?

Our diversity-focused, regenerative organic planting schedule allows us to grow a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, mushrooms, microgreens, herbs, and edible flowers across our 17 acres here at Paradise Farms. In addition, we occasionally source from small family farms that share our values.

Can I choose what’s in my CSA box?

The contents of each CSA box are dictated by peak ripeness and seasonality and, unfortunately, we cannot offer changes or substitutions. As the harvest allows, we may be able to include additional treats or add-on options from week to week. We keep members in the loop on that (and any other updates) with our weekly Harvest Letter email.

Wait… I didn’t get something you said would be in my CSA box?

Seasonal conditions affect crops, which means substitutions may occur and the contents of your box change with the harvest. Each week, you'll receive a list via email of the products to be included in your box. If you're missing something that was listed, please respond via the same email and let our team know.

How many people does a CSA feed?

This definitely depends on your household's fondness for vegetables, but our bountiful boxes should serve a small family (3-4 people) for the week. The CSA share is not meant to entirely replace your weekly grocery shopping as our box does not contain any grains, nuts, seeds, oils etc. This program is curated for people craving a culinary experience of exploration and connection with their local farm.

Member Tips & Resources

Produce Storage Tips

We harvest our produce at its prime, ensuring peak freshness and longevity compared to grocery store counterparts. Follow these tried and true tips to make that farm-fresh flavor last:

  • Get your farm box to a cool location ASAP. Nothing ruins fresh produce faster than the hot sun! If you’re out running errands, we recommend making the farm your last stop to avoid spoilage. If you get delivery, please be sure you have a shady spot for us to leave your box.
  • Take the tops off your carrots and beets right away when you get home to preserve freshness.
  • Wash, dry, and store your greens in a bag (our favorites here!) with some wet paper towels and place in the fridge.

Remember to thoroughly wash all produce before consuming!

Kitchen Tools & Gadgets

Level up from CSA Member to CSA Master with tools and gadgets handpicked to help you maximize the enjoyment of your farm box.

  • Salad spinner: Quickly clean and dry CSA produce, saving time and ensuring freshness. Efficient, convenient, and enhances longevity.
  • Good kitchen knives, along with a knife sharpener (or local business who sharpens knives!).
  • Reusable glass containers and mason jars to keep your food as farm-fresh as possible.
  • Sheet pans for roasting delicious veggies!
  • Food processor: The one “big-ticket” item we recommend. Use it for making salsa, pesto, pizza dough, and pureeing items like soups and sauces.
